Atlas Gutter Replacement: The Dallas Owner’s Guide
Replacing an Atlas gutter section in Dallas typically runs $9 to $14 per linear foot installed for standard 5-inch aluminum, with most homes needing 30 to 60 feet replaced at a total of $270 to $840. We stock Atlas-compatible gutter profiles on our trucks and can usually complete a section replacement the same day we inspect it. Most Dallas homeowners discover the problem the hard way: a waterfall pouring off one corner during a spring thunderstorm, or a gutter that’s pulled loose from the fascia board after a North Texas hail event.
Atlas gutters are solid systems when installed correctly, but the joints and hangers fail long before the gutter material itself does. What starts as a small drip near a seam becomes a rotted fascia board, then water against the foundation. We’ve seen it hundreds of times from Oak Cliff to Far North Dallas.
Which Atlas Models This Applies To
Atlas manufactures seamless gutter systems in 5-inch and 6-inch profiles, with the 5-inch K-style being the most common on Dallas homes. The key compatibility gotcha Dallas owners run into: Atlas uses a slightly different hanging bracket spacing than some aftermarket hangers allow, so a generic bracket often doesn’t seat correctly on the Atlas profile lip. We match the original bracket style rather than forcing a universal fit.
Atlas also produced a small run of 6-inch half-round gutters for higher-end homes in the Park Cities and Preston Hollow areas. If your home has those, you’ll need the 6-inch Atlas profile specifically. The wrong width won’t catch the water volume during a Dallas downpour, and it looks visibly off from the street. We’ll measure the opening width and lip profile on site before quoting anything.
For the OEM-versus-aftermarket decision: Atlas no longer maintains a direct-to-consumer parts channel, so most “OEM” listings online are either old stock or mislabeled. Quality aftermarket aluminum in the same gauge and profile is what we install, and it performs identically. The real difference is the installer’s seam work, not the metal itself. Mercer Roofing Co Dallas is an independent service provider and not affiliated with Atlas.

Signs Your Atlas Gutter Replacement Is Failing
- Water spilling over the front edge during rain. This usually means the hangers have pulled loose from the fascia, or the gutter has settled out of pitch. The Atlas bracket anchors are often the first point of failure, not the gutter channel itself.
- Visible gaps at the seams or end caps. The sealant Atlas used at the factory eventually dries out in Dallas heat. Once a seam opens, water tracks down the fascia board and behind the gutter, rotting wood that’s expensive to replace.
- Gutter pulling away from the roofline. When you can see daylight between the gutter and the fascia, the hangers have failed. In North Texas, the freeze-thaw cycle after a wet cold snap accelerates this by expanding trapped water behind the gutter.
- Rust streaks or pinhole leaks along the bottom. Aluminum doesn’t rust, but the steel screws in some Atlas hanger kits do. Those rust streaks are a tell that the fasteners are degrading and the gutter is barely hanging on.
- Sagging in the middle of a long run. Atlas 5-inch gutter was designed for hanger spacing around every 24 inches. If a previous installer stretched that to 36 inches, the middle of every run eventually bows and holds standing water. In Dallas mosquito season, that standing water becomes a breeding ground.

DIY or Call Us?
Gutter work is one of the few roofing-adjacent tasks a homeowner can partially do, but there’s a line. You can safely clear debris, check that downspouts are attached, and look for visible seam gaps from the ground. What you shouldn’t do is get on a ladder against a two-story fascia with a 10-foot gutter section in one hand while Dallas wind gusts hit 25 mph. That’s how falls happen.
The other reality: most Atlas gutter damage we see isn’t just the gutter. It’s the hanger system, the pitch, and the fascia board behind it. If you replace one section without fixing the underlying pitch problem, the new section fails the same way within two seasons. Let us look at it. Call (432) 302-5605 and we’ll inspect the whole run, tell you what actually needs replacing versus what doesn’t, and put the price in writing before we touch anything.
FAQs
Atlas aluminum gutters typically last 20 to 25 years in Dallas before the seams and hanger anchors start failing. The metal itself can last longer, but Dallas hail, intense UV exposure, and the occasional ice event shorten the practical lifespan of the hardware holding the gutter in place. Call (432) 302-5605 if your gutters are over 15 years old and showing seam gaps.
A clean seam separation or a loose end cap can often be resealed and re-hung for $90 to $180 in Dallas, which buys you a few more years. But a creased, hail-dented, or badly pitched section should be replaced rather than patched, because the damage changes how water flows through the entire run. We’ll tell you which situation you have, and we won’t sell a replacement if a repair is genuinely the better call.
Most section replacements run 1 to 2 hours on site. A full run replacement on an average Dallas single-story home takes half a day, including removing the old gutter, checking the fascia, and installing the new run with correct pitch. You’ll know the timeline before we start, in writing.
Yes. Our trucks carry 5-inch and 6-inch K-style aluminum in white, off-white, and mission brown, plus Atlas-pattern hangers, end caps, and downspouts. If we need a less common color or profile, we’ll note it on the quote and have it in hand before the scheduled install date. We also stock gutter parts compatible with GAF, Owens Corning, and CertainTeed systems.
A roof shouldn’t be something you worry about. Let’s make sure yours isn’t. Grant Whitlock and the Mercer Roofing crew have put on hundreds of roofs across Dallas, and we treat every gutter the same way we treat the roof above it: as a system that protects everything underneath.
